Scribal Guild 101

In the SCA being a scribe means that you are involved in constructing scrolls. Scribes need more than just calligraphers (though they are important), they also require a designer, a painter or illuminator, and a wordsmith.

In Calontir local scribes work on lower level award scrolls which are preprinted, requiring only illumination to complete. In Mag Mor the scribes also produce Baronial scrolls which are all done from scratch by hand.

If you are interested in one or more of the activities listed above talk to one of the local scribes or show up for a meeting. All the tools necessary will be provided.

Baronial Scribes

No equipment or experience is necessary to participate. If you are interested we would love to have you join us!

The scribal guild meets fridays at 7pm in the home of Isabeau Jehanne and Carlos Xavier de Cadiz. The frequency of meetings depends on the number of scrolls needed for upcoming events. If you would like to know the meeting dates for this month you can find them on the calendar.

If you would like to know more about the scribal guild contact Lady Belinda.
